Vision

To support UNC Charlotte’s vision to emerge as a top-tier research university by nurturing research teams with expertise in nanoscale science, chemistry, biology, physics, environmental science and engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, optics and materials with the ultimate goal to spin off their own independent research centers.

Mission

  1. To serve as the main venue to merge and leverage our team’s expertise in nanoscale science, chemistry, biology, physics, environmental science and engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, optics and materials.
  2. To foster collaboration between its members to find innovative solutions to relevant problems in health, environment, energy, engineering and materials.
  3. To support and direct the efforts of its members to compete for large-scale grants appropriate to their own scientific fields.
  4. To provide a collaborative environment for graduate and undergraduate students to pursue relevant research in nanoscale science, science and engineering.
