Research

Biomedicine

Host-pathogen interactions play a crucial role in health and disease and studying them provides valuable insights for managing infections and improving public health.

Our group will study this relevant research area from different angles including:

1. Investigating host-defense mechanisms.

2. Studying the principles of capsule-associated bacterial virulence.

3. Developing novel imaging methods to evaluate host-pathogen interactions.

4. Fabricating unique nanoparticle-based antimicrobials.

Materials

The materials subgroup will focus on issues related to the capture and storage of solar energy.

Members of our team will work together to:

1. Study the chemistry of redox couples for redox flow batteries.

2. Couple charge-storage and light harvesting using photoactive materials.

3. Prepare new, photo-responsive solid-state compounds.

4. Develop advanced membranes for energy storage devices.
